Geelong star Gryan Miers is hopeful he hasn’t done any further damage to his injured after coming from the field during the second quarter of Saturday’s clash against Essendon.

Miers suffered a partial tear of the ACL in his right knee back in April, but opted against surgery in a bid to keep his season alive.

He missed a month before returning to the senior team and showing no signs of discomfort.

However, he was then managed out of the team and spent another month in the VFL before returning and playing the past three matches.

But after taking a mark in the second quarter against the Bombers, he immediately looked proppy. He was able to take his kick but then came from the field.

He could be seen rubbing his knee with a worried look on his face.

“Gryan Miers came off a few minutes ago and has just sat down on the bench and clearly in a bit of discomfort with that knee,” boundary commentator Ruby Schleicher said on Fox Footy.

“He was just walking around trying to keep it warm and seemed to be walking with not too much discomfort, but now probably feels a little more jammed up, particularly given his recent history with the partial ACL tear.”

Miers was able to return to the field in a major relief and shed more light on the situation at half-time.

“It feels alright, I’ve had these a few times throughout the year,” he told Fox Footy.

“I’ve had three or four of these incidents. Pretty confident I’m fine, but it’s just frustrating that it keeps showing up and limits me the tiniest bit, but I think I’ll be right in the second half.

Miers had more work done on his knee during the break but started the third quarter on the field.

More to come …
