Chrome nails are here to stay, in subtle form, loud with studs and everything in between.
The glazed donut manicure isn’t leaving and we couldn’t be happier about it.
Created by celebrity nail artist Zola Ganzorigt for Hailey Bieber, the glossy, pearl-like finish has become one of the most requested manicures in salons around the world.

Years after it first broke the internet, the look is still dominating Pinterest boards, TikTok tutorials and beauty wish lists.
The only catch has always been the price.
Chrome powder is usually an extra salon add-on, often costing around $20 on top of your regular gel manicure.

Suddenly, those glossy, glazed fingertips become a much bigger investment than they first appear.
Now OPI is making the viral trend far more affordable with the launch of its Chrome Powder collection in Australia, giving beauty lovers the chance to recreate the iconic manicure at home for just $30.
Available through Adore Beauty, the collection includes the cult favourite Tin Man Can Glaze, the same chrome powder used by OPI Global Ambassador Zola Ganzorigt alongside the brand’s beloved Funny Bunny shade to create Hailey Bieber’s famous glazed donut nails.
If you’ve ever zoomed in on Hailey Bieber’s manicure wondering how it looked so impossibly shiny, this is the finishing-touch ‘secret’ behind the look.
The finely milled powder transforms any gel manicure into an ultra-reflective chrome finish that catches the light from every angle.
Layer it over soft milky whites and nude shades for the classic glazed donut effect, or apply it over darker colours for a futuristic metallic manicure that looks straight off a runway.
Of course, Hailey Bieber isn’t the only celebrity embracing chrome nails. Sabrina Carpenter has also been spotted wearing reflective manicures, proving the trend works just as well with playful summer shades as it does with understated neutrals.
Not quite ready to commit to full chrome? OPI has also launched its Infinite Shine Glaze Toppers, which offer a softer take on the trend.

Priced at $25.95 from David Jones, the semi-sheer topper can be painted over virtually any OPI shade to give nails a delicate chrome-kissed glow.
It’s the perfect manicure next to a freshly glazed pastry sitting in the bakery window.
It delivers just enough shimmer to catch the light without looking over the top, making it perfect for everyday wear.
It’s also one of those beauty products that makes people wonder whether you’ve booked a salon appointment, when in reality you’ve spent just a few minutes at your kitchen table.
Chrome manicures have managed to outlast countless nail crazes because they’re surprisingly versatile.
They look polished at the office, glamorous at weddings and just as good wrapped around an iced coffee on a weekend.

Whether you prefer barely there pinks or bold statement colours, there’s a chrome finish that elevates the look.
With salon-quality products becoming easier to use at home, achieving a professional-looking manicure no longer requires an appointment or a hefty beauty budget.
As for me, I’ll happily be working my way through every chrome shade OPI has released.
If glazed donut nails have taught us anything, it’s that a little shine goes a very long way.
